Robyn Rihanna Fenty was born and Raised in Barbados.
While she initially wanted to graduate from high school, she decided to drop out at the age of fifteen to focus on her music career. She moved to the United States in 2005 but has stayed true to her Barbadian roots. She often returns to her native country where she contributes to health and educational initiatives and was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary in 2018.
She was named the 2017 Harvard University Humanitarian of the Year for her philanthropic work.
Rihanna is involved in a number of charitable causes. She supports the Global Partnership for Education and Global Citizen Project, providing children with access to education in developing countries.
